They take after their father...

Phil has a degree in Construction Management, so needless to say, he is very talented in the area of planning, drafting, drawing, building, etc. So this year, we got to see who takes after their father and who takes after their mother -who, ahem... can't even draw stick figures.
It was quite telling who has the artistic gene...
and who doesn't.
Sometimes, everyone needs some professional help.
Thank you, Grandma!
The true artistic ones.
Look! They do take after their father!

24 hour Reprieve

Even though I abhor spending money, I figure that money spent on a getaway is cheaper than marriage counseling. And heaven knows, Phil and I need a getaway every now and then, especially after a month of strep, full body rashes, the flu, etc.
So I searched and searched for a last-minute deal and found one! We stayed in the nicest hotel I have stayed in, ever...the Grand Hyatt in downtown Seattle. (just look at the beautifulness of it!)
The bathroom was as big as our entire room...

We drank lots of Starbucks.

We also ate at Mama's Mexican restaurant, which is the best Mexican food I have ever eaten...including food that I ate in Mexico. I first went there when I was 12 years old, but since then, couldn't find it again. Imagine my absolute delight when I saw it online when I was looking for coupons (remember, I abhor spending money). There was no coupon, but it was worth every penny.

More Starbucks...mmmmm....coffee.

I am pretty sure it is an unspoken rule that you must drink lots of Starbucks when you are visiting the actual birthplace of heaven in a cup. And I am nothing, if not a rule follower.

Look at the day we had...

And the food we ate...
And the sights I saw...
Yes it was worth every penny.

Time flies even when you're not having fun

I am amazed how long it has been since I have written anything! Almost an entire month just flew by. It was filled with fun things like the flu, strep throat, reactions to medicine, full body rashes, school drama, parenting problems...you know fun stuff! But I am back to my computer and my updates. I will fill you in on the truly fun things we've done in a month including super duper photos. (do not be afraid... the full body rash photos have been deleted from my camera and will not be shown)
